Pairings for the US Junior Amateur Qualifying on June 11, 2026 at OSU GC (Scarlet Course) Columbus, Ohio will be published on or before June 5th.  60 players will be paired in the morning wave between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.  60 players will be paired in the afternoon wave between 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES

Stroke play competition conducted over 18 holes.  Field size is currently 120.  5 Qualifying spots and 2 alternates.  
For all players with a WHS account we will post your 18-hole score for handicap purposes.    

 

PRACTICE ROUND AVAILABILITY

Please contact Brian Kelly and his staff at 614-514-4653. 

Please plan accordingly for your practice round schedule as the club is in high demand from their members.  Cost is $80.  

Please note that practice rounds are for contestants and are available based on availability.  The host club is only asked to provide ONE practice round per player.  

 

REGISTRATION

None.  Please be on your starting tee 10 minutes prior to your tee time or as soon as the group ahead leaves the tee.    

 

PLAYOFF

In the event of a tie for the last qualifying places or alternates, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff to determine the final qualifiers and the 1st and 2nd alternate if necessary.  All announcements regarding the play-off will be made at the scoreboard upon completion of the qualifying round.  It is the player's responsibility to be ready for a playoff when announced.  

 

PROHIBITION ON CERTAIN TYPES OF SHOES

Model Local Rule G-7 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. 

 

GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS

Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used.  Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at https://www.usga.org/equipment-standards/conforming-club-ball-lists.html

The “One Ball Rule” is NOT in effect at Qualifying, but will be in effect at the Championship proper.  

 

CLUBS:GROOVES

Model Local Rule G-2 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect, except that the Exception in the Model Local Rule does not apply.

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

The Rules of Golf allow them as long as the only feature turned on is distancing measuring and other features like slope and wind are turned off.  If breached, penalty applies.  

 

PACE OF PLAY

It is a condition that players must play without undue delay and in accordance with guidelines established by the committee.  Nine Hole pace is 2 hours and 15 minutes.  18-hole pace is 4 hours and 30 minutes.  Or staying within 15 minutes of the group ahead.   

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES

Will open at 6:30 a.m.

  

CARTS & PULL CART

Model Local Rule G-6 is in effect for Players.

Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a round unless authorized by the Committee. 

Pull carts are permitted including motorized pull carts.  Players and/or caddies may never ride on a motorized pull cart.  

 

No spectator carts.  No Exceptions

 

CADDIES

A player may employ a caddie but is not required to have a caddie.  A player must not use a parent, step parent, or guardian as a caddie during Qualifying or the Championship proper.  

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

As set forth in the USGA application, the code of conduct applies to all USGA Qualifying and Championships. 

 

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

Contestants and caddies must be neat in appearance.  No denim, No cargo pants or cargo shorts, shirts must have collars. 

 

CLUB POLICIES

Please check with host club on cell phone policy.   

 

FOOD SERVICE

For purchase at the clubhouse.  Bottled water will be provided on the 1st and 10th tee.  

 

WITHDRAWAL FROM QUALIFYING

Players can withdraw by logging into their USGA account and clicking on the WITHDRAW tab. They must also notify the Official in Charge prior to their scheduled Qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future USGA competitions. 

 

GREEN READING MATERIAL

Model Local Rule G-11 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is not in effect for Qualifying.

The Rules of Golf limit the size of Green-Reading materials under Rule 4.3a/1.
